Bible Study

Sitting in Church today; pondering on scripture and homeschooling. I had just read chapters one & two in Exodus for our history lesson and here we are learning about it in church all of us together. It's so uplifting to belong to a Church that actively seeks God's will. Thanks to Michael & Melissa Oatway and Kyla Gleason who have worked hard to come up with a wonderful new Sunday school program.

It's called Studio 32:7 which is based on Deuteronomy 32:7 "Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you…"

I think the best thing about this program is that it follows along with the adult's sermons. Right now we have just started the book of Exodus and the kids are learning right along with their parents. The children are sent home with questions to talk about with their parents and Bible verses that families can read together to further expand upon what we have learned. A side note for my children is that there is a drama component to this program. I think for BigH this is a huge plus and will help him to understand his Bible lessons more thoroughly.

I feel so grateful to The Bridge Baptist Church for taking the initiative to encourage parents to teach their children about God. I believe scripture does support this.

Deuteronomy Chapter 6 says

"6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

During our school week for the next few months we will be following in the book of Exodus along with our church family and enjoying every minute of it.
