Mae has been showing a lot of interest in free writing and gets a bit frustrated when I can’t read something she’s written. I’m very encouraging and give her lots of hugs and tell her how great she is doing because she is showing a lot initiative by writing these little stories. Henry too has been copying pictures and writing out of comics he’s really been enjoying Stone Rabbit. This is great because he’s also doing this on his own free will! And enjoying it.

For read alouds we have been going between to books Bambi and Wind and the Willows both chapter books.

Evamae is working on her cursive writing and Henry is doing excellent in HWT cursive writing and is on page 22.

Yesterday the kids went to Windsor House for a visit and got to take part in a simulation game. A gold rush that takes place in 1858 in Yale. The school gym is transformed into store fronts from that time period. The kids even got to go gold panning. Along the creek near the school the children have made claims. They have spray painted rocks gold that the kids can find and exchange for cash.

Hen has been having a lot of fun with his Wolf Cub groups they went camping up on Mt Seymour learned about fire safety and cooking on a oil stove. He’s also been doing well in swimming lessons and was moved up to level 2.

Mae loves brownies and does a lot of arts n crafts there. She is also doing well in her swimming lessons.

Mae & Henry took Bun Bun to the 2011 Vancouver Rabbit Festival where they learned about rabbit health & safety. Bun Bun and Mae made the short video of the even 1:34 seconds on the timer. Here it is.
